Well, I haven't posted in forever. I also have no followers (thank you kind one person who commented). Now maybe it's because my writing style is just so Urbane and sophisticated it's above everyone's heads, but more likely it's because in six months I've posted twice. Well, this shall no more be.
To start my renewed blogging career (that didn't exist), I've decided to split my blogging in three. I make stuff, I make food, I make thoughts. Henceforward there shall be three blogs for my three makes. And this is for making stuff. I'll link to the other ones some day. Maybe. If I actually start them. The point is, no more recipes on here. Just stuff.
So what have I been making? Heres the quick list:
Socks
moccasins
bras
a very nice wrap shirt I patterned
Some little hand warmers no one wants
a 14 foot scarf
some yarn
ect.
I don't even know all that's passed, and I'm not going to try to document it all pictorially. There will be pictures next week. But pictures of things I'm making, and maybe a little how-to. Those things would be
A bra (yes always)
vegetable tanned leather soft-sole shoes!!!!! (no more wet feet, I'm tired of wet feet. You can't water proof brain tan and still have it look pretty)
some really awesome wrap dress/under tunic/covered in embroidery thing. Yes.
So, next week pictures. Maybe even of the things I just mentioned.

A Bra, Not For Free, Sorry.
So I was going to release the instructions for making my "Simple" bra here on The Girl Who Made Stuff, but after I documented the process, I realized this was unrealistic. For one thing, it wasn't quite as simple to pattern as I remember, so this isn't going to be one of those big catchy DIY fads. Also, my mother and my husband told me I should get some sort of renumeration for my year and a half of patterning. On reflection I felt they were right. So, here's a preview of the pictures included in the instructions. If you want the pattern It's available for 5.00$ at http://www.etsy.com/shop/aphilo?ref=si_shop

Spanish Rice and Refried Black Beans
Sometimes I make clothing, sometimes I make words, sometimes I make furniture. Today I made food. Well, I normally make food, but this is food worth sharing.
The Husband and I are mostly vegetarian. That means we eat meat at other people's houses, and sometimes at restaurants, and we'll serve meat to people we don't think would appreciate vegetarian dishes. But in the home it's vegetarian all the way. And here is a dish not just vegetarian, but vegan, and delicious.
Anne's spanish rice
1 cup brown rice
1.5 cups salsa
.5 cups water
Combine all ingredients in sauce pan. Turn to high and boil for ten minutes, turn down to low, cover and let simmer for 25 minutes.
Re-fried black beans
1 cup black beans
1.5 cups water
1/2 onion
1 clove garlic
2 tsp olive oil
1 tsp chili powder
Sort and wash beans. Put in crock pot with water on high for five hours or on medium for 8. Drain water off of beans, but reserve. Mash beans with potatoe masher, adding in chili powder and the water back in as is helpful. Saute onion and (whole) clove of garlic till onions get brown. Mash garlic in pan with a fork. Add the mashed beans and fry till all warm and happy. Add water while cooking to keep the beans from drying out.
Serve with sour cream or shredded cheese.
